Senior Research Project: Noodle Tools

November 15, 2010 by

Research Steps:
You already have a question and thesis statement for your literary analysis topic. So, it is now time to extend the research process from the analysis of literature to finding what other EXPERTS consider significant about your ideas. You can use EXPERT ideas to perform two actions in your paper:
1. Support your opinion/argument
2. Present an opposing view on your opinion/argument (here, you only want to use it as a counter-argument—don’t build your whole paper based on the counterargument—use it as talking point to further prove your argument/critique/opinion) For example: Although Mrs. Claxton asserts “Shakespeare trumps time in his Sonnet 15”, further scientific research shows that time eventually decays memory.
NOW, Create a Noodle account:
Click on the following link and choose: Noodlebib MLA Starter
http://www.noodletools.com/tools/freetools.php

Today, on our first day of research, I want you to use two SPECIFC websites to find expert opinions about your thesis statement on Sonnet 15:
1. Google Scholar
2. Google Books

Example Book from Google Books:
http://books.google.com/books?id=69YFHSzBuLIC&lpg=PA58&dq=Imagery%20in%20Shakespeare%20sonnet%2015&pg=PA58#v=onepage&q&f=false

Ticket Out the Door Today:
Answer as a reply to this post, and “sign” your whole name to the post.
What website did you find the most helpful: books or scholar?
Were you able to collect three sources and describe them in Noodle Tools Today?
